Private Lessons

Why Lessons?

-Lessons provide your student with individualized learning to meet his/her exact musical needs.  Whether your goal is to be competitive when auditioning for All-Region Band or just to feel confident with your scales, lessons can help you get there!  Private lesson teachers are like personal trainers for band.

-Taking lessons through high school can open the door to college scholarships, even for students who do not plan to get a degree in music

-Lessons can help students learn how to focus and refine their craft at an early age when it is easy to bounce around between activities.  This kind of commitment is a skill than will serve students well all throughout life.

-It's FUN to be really good at something!  The most enjoyable music to play is often times challenging, and being able to master something you thought impossible is a great feeling

Types of Lessons/Pricing

Lessons do cost money, but scholarships are available!!  Scholarships are awarded as needed for students who show a true interest in music and who work hard to keep grades passing in all classes.  While most scholarships are partial (for example, we may pay half of the lesson cost each week), in some cases full scholarships may be awarded if a student shows tremendous potential and commitment.  Lessons happen once a week for half an hour during band class so that students do not have to schedule around before/after school activities.
Group Lessons  |  $10.00/week (without scholarship)
Group lessons are a great way to get involved without the financial commitment of the individual lesson rate.  Group lessons can range from 2-4 students, which still keeps it small enough for everyone to get individual attention and personalized instruction.  Students in a "group" must be in the same class period/on similar skill level and play the same instrument.

Individual Lessons  |  $20.00/week (without scholarship)
Individual lessons are for highly-motivated students who are dedicated to practicing.  It is a one-on-one environment intended to maximize the amount of detailed instruction.
